Biography of Master Ahmad Ghaem Maghami

Master Ahmad Ghaem-Maghami, a prominent calligrapher and master of the craft, was born in Kashmar in 1954. Raised in an artistic environment, his initial introduction to calligraphy began with his father. His strong interest in the art led him to begin formal training in 1976 under Master Seyed Hossein Mirkhani, with whom he studied for approximately two years. Subsequently, he attended the classes of Master Gholamhossein Amirkhani for 14 years, advancing his artistic path through diligence and consistent practice.

In 1978, he was employed by the Nishapur Department of Education, where he simultaneously expanded his artistic activities. Master Ghaem-Maghami conducted calligraphy classes at the Nishapur Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, playing a significant role in teaching and promoting the art in the region through his ongoing efforts. He received his advanced degree in calligraphy in 1982. Following the recommendation of Master Amirkhani, he established the Nishapur branch of the Iranian Calligraphers Association and served as its director for five years. Focusing on the Siah-Mashq style and drawing inspiration from the Qajar era, he has created works that demonstrate the depth of his experience and artistic vision. Master Ghaem-Maghami achieved the rank of Master (Ostad) in 2012.
