Biography of Master Navid Zafar<\/strong><\/h1>

Born in 1984 in Mashhad, he began his artistic journey in 1998 by enrolling in a graphic design art school. A tragic accident in 2000, which resulted in the loss of his family, marked a turning point in his life. After a difficult period of recovery, he turned to painting with a more serious and profound perspective, transforming this art form into his sanctuary.<\/p>

After obtaining an associate degree in graphic design, he spent some time in Gorgan painting nature and teaching, before returning to Mashhad in 2011. He continued his academic path, earning a master\u2019s degree in painting from the University of Tehran in 2015. Alongside his studies, he taught at art universities in Mashhad and worked on creating urban art installations.<\/p>

In 2018, he decided to reduce his teaching commitments to focus primarily on creating paintings and pursuing his personal artistic path more intensively.     The works of Navid Zafaralizadeh present the viewer with tense, bitter, and satirical scenes\u2014scenes that possess a dramatic and theatrical quality, rather than being mere paintings. In this visual world, faces and bodies often appear distorted, transformed, and mask-like; these are grotesque figures that simultaneously evoke both humor and horror. He constructs a world in which laughter, violence, exaggeration, and anxiety intertwine, and where the boundary between play and catastrophe is constantly unstable.<\/p>

    One of the central themes of his work is the role of the spectator; here, the characters themselves become indifferent observers, and the audience no longer remains a passive viewer. The structure of the scenes draws the viewer into this performance, confronting them with their own relationship to violence, the act of watching, and the state of being performative.
